The Senior Journal cable television program is devoted to exploring the issues of growing older in Rhode Island through the personal perspectives of seniors.
Programs are produced by senior volunteers and are sponsored by:
The Department of Elderly Affairs (DEA) with the support of COX Communications.

Sundays at 5:00 p.m.,
Mondays at 7:00 p.m.,
and Tuesdays at 11:30 a.m.
all over the statewide interconnect channel .

SCHEDULE
From March 30 to April 8, "Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island" will be broadcast. Arron interviews Linda Coffin, M.D., associate medical director; Linda Regan, social worker and Donna Clark, R.N. of Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island.
From April 13-22, "Senior Digest" will air. Arron talks with Paul Palange, editor and publisher of the “Senior Digest” newspaper.
From April 27 to May 6, "Heritage Harbor Museum" will be broadcast. Arron interviews Albert Klyberg, board member and Roberta Bell Hourigan, manager of fund development for the Heritage Harbor Museum project.
From May 11 to May 20, "Grow Smart Rhode Island" will air. Arron talks with Scott Wolfe, executive director of Grow Smart.
Current crewmembers include Fred Engle, John DeFusco, Vern Stormberg, and Libby Arron, of Cranston. Arron is the chairperson for the group. Also part of the crew are Kate Albanese and Carol Mitson of Johnston; Dottie Oseff and Harold Gerstein of Wawwick, Gloria Williams, Sam and Lynn Stepak, and Carl Bloom of Providence; Doris Dupuis of Coventry; and John O’Hara of Narragansett.

The Department of Elderly Affairs (DEA) was established as a cabinet-level position in 1977 under Rhode Island General Law 42-66-1. DEA is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive system of programs and services for Rhode Islanders age 60 and older. DEA is also the state’s single planning and service area agency on aging under the provisions of The Older Americans Act of 1965.
